Essential Information

On arrival in the wagon you will find:

  • Organically 'grown' eggs, homemade organically grown local apple juice and cake or biscuits.

  • Essentials such as tea, coffee, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper provided 

We can offer a bottle of chilled prosecco/champagne on arrival - £15/£30

Other important stuff

  • Check in: 4 pm

  • Check out: 10 am

  • It's advised to bring a torch and wellies, but the owners will provide a torch and a selection of wellies which you will find by the car park on arrival

  • Please be aware that there is a beehive at the bottom of the field which shouldn't cause you any disturbance but please be cautious 

  • Mobile phone signal available 

  • No WiFi 

  • Guests are welcome to bring their own logs/kindling/firelighters, with no surcharge 

  • Included in the booking price is use of your private wood fired hot tub, plus cold water bucket shower (if you dare!). You are welcome to bring your own wood or book the following: D.I.Y. Hot Tub - The tub will be filled ready for heating and logs, kindling and firelighters supplied to heat it (usually takes 2-21/2 hours) = £25. Hot Tub Service - Tub will be filled and heating for your arrival = £50. Please let the owner know at least 48 hours in advance of your stay if you would like the DIY Hot Tub or Hot Tub service.

  • Wagon is located at the end of a rough track. Driving slowly is recommended as there are some drainage bumps on the track. Unsuitable for very low lying cars, large trucks or motorhomes.

  • The wood burner in the wagon is its central heating. September - May inclusive the following is provided: For weekend bookings a sack of logs and basket full of kindling. For 4 night mid week bookings, the same plus an extra sack of logs. Extra wood for hot tub re-heats and the wagon wood burner, can also be purchased; Logs £8, kindling £4.

  • During very cold weather an electric heater can be provided if requested.

  • The nearest shop for real basics is inside The Fountain Inn pub in Orcop which is about a 10-15 minute walk. There is also The Carrot and Wine store in Wormelow, a five-minute drive away.

  • The Fountain Inn (1 mile) - Friendly local pub serving very well priced food, just a 15-minute walk from the wagon open Thurs 6 pm to Sunday lunchtime 

  • The Bridge Inn (4.5 miles) - Very welcoming with good food and a large pub garden by the river 

  • The Kilpeck (4.3 miles but around 2 miles via footpaths) - Good food, nice atmosphere and interesting Romanesque church nearby with renowned carvings that draws the tourists 

  • The Burger Shop, Hereford - A variety of artisan burgers including vegetarian, craft beers and a lively atmosphere

  • The Bookshop, Hereford - The Bookshop describes itself as ‘Modern Ethical Eating’ and is more of a restaurant, also serving good cocktails. Was voted the UK’s best Sunday lunch in 2017 at the Observer Food Awards

  • Rocket Cafe, Hereford - Lovely little cafe on Church St near the Cathedral, selling build your own breakfasts, homemade pizzas, cakes etc 

  • De Koffie Pot, Hereford - Cafe and bar in a courtyard setting by the River Wye. Has regular talks and musical events
